DESCRIPTION:Sociocracy works best when all minds and hearts are open – but that’s not always the case. When there is conflict\, our ability to listen and problem-solve is diminished.  \nIn this webinar\, we will review all the ways in which sociocracy can support conflict resolution\, and how it can be combined with other\, related tools to transform conflict into an opportunity to connect and learn more about each other. \nOf course\, interpersonal conflict is always at the heart of conflicts! But in this webinar\, we’ll focus on conflict in circles and organizations and what circles and organizations can do to prevent and address conflict. An organization can’t mandate how people think or when to go see a therapist\, but it can create an ecosystem of listen and care\, a support network for conflict resolution\, and accountability measures to make sure organizations can sustain the maintenance and care of their processes and their people. This class is for you!  \nIn this workshop\, we will provide an overview of the basic concepts of sociocracy: how we make decisions\, how we empower and connect teams and we can improve continuously over time. We will do exercises and role-plays so everyone can experience the clarity\, consideration and flow that sociocracy brings.  \nTopics: \n\nDeciding together so no one is ignored (consent)\nOrganizational structure and linking\nBeing intentional about who does what: sociocratic open elections\nLearning and feedback: how we can improve what we do and how we do it\n\n  \nLevel\nEntry: This class is most appropriate for people who have an idea of what sociocracy is but not much more\, for example after attending a webinar\, or seeing a video (like our 4 min video or our 19 min video). Possibly\, you have gone deeper into one aspect of sociocracy\, like consent. \nThis class also works if you’re a new member of a sociocratic organization and you’d like to understand the reasons under processes done there. \nAfter the class\, you will have a good understanding of all the parts\, and first-hand experience in some areas. \nSee this training level in relationship to other training offerings.  \nTeachers\nThis introduction will be co-taught by Ted Rau and Jerry Koch-Gonzalez\, staff in Sociocracy For All\, and co-authors of the sociocracy handbook Many Voices One Song\, as well as student teachers for individual parts. \nFormat\nThis is not one of those lengthy online classes. DESCRIPTION:The Corona virus has thrown our economies and societies around the world into turmoil. It has caused suffering\, fear and panic\, from the death of loved ones\, desperation from lost jobs\, broken businesses\, homelessness\, divisiveness\, fragmentation and much more. At the same time it has generated an increasing awareness that we need to re-write our story for the future. This crisis offers an opportunity and an imperative for us to reinvent ourselves\, our organisations and our society. \nNever had there been so much complexity in our world\, even before Corona. Running organisations was proving increasingly difficult due to the complexity they were operating under. Partly this was because the methods we were using were never designed to run organisations in complexity. Leadership in complexity requires a completely different set of tools from conventional leadership. VUCA (Volatility\, Uncertainty\, Complexity and Ambiguity) also demands a completely different mindset. \nSo how does sociocracy fit into this new world? Can sociocracy help us reinvent our world in the context of VUCA?
