Community of Practice: Sociocratic Intentional Communities

Find your people!

Advocates for Sociocracy in Community is our community of practice for Intentional Communities. We meet on Zoom once a month to support each other in using sociocracy in our co-housing, ecovillages, or other intentional communities. We discuss themes such as how to implement sociocracy, conflict resolution, policy vs operations, managing objections, and much more.

This community of practice is for you if:

• You’re already trained and using sociocracy
• You are part of a forming or established co-housing, ecovillage, or other intentional community, and
• You want to share your experience, get support from other community members and SoFA trainers and staff, or just meet fellow community and sociocracy enthusiasts.

This community of practice will allow you to find companionship and build relationships with other sociocratic communities, like Port Townsend Ecovillage (OR), Pioneer Valley Community (MA), Bridport Cohousing (UK), Eden Community (TX), Cohousing Hamilton (ON, CA), La tribu sylvilisée (QC, CA) and many more.

Meeting time

We meet every second Monday of the month, for 1h30, at 11:15 am EST/EDT (UTC-5).

It’s a drop-in group, and we’d be delighted to meet you and learn about your community in our next session.

Who can join?

Anyone can attend one or two sessions to try it out!

– Fill out the form at the bottom of this event page (you will receive an automated confirmation message when your form is successfully submitted).
– You will receive an email reminder around one week ahead of each session, with the Zoom link and your local time.

After attending two sessions, you will need to become a SOFA member, or learner, or sign up for the COP Subscription to keep attending regularly:

• Join SOFA individual membership OR
• Join SOFA Organizational Learners OR
• Sign up for the COP Subscription
