Who uses sociocracy?
Sociocracy is used in dozens of different kinds of organizations, including:
- non-profits
- cooperatives
- intentional communities and ecovillages
- for-profit businesses
- permaculture practitioners
- schools
- activist groups
- volunteer-led organizations
- and more!

Each sector has its own culture and specific needs when implementing sociocracy. For example, in more traditional businesses, a lot of culture change needs to happen to keep things peer-oriented, while in more informal communities, sociocracy can bring forward more direction and productivity. Many groups find that sociocracy is a way for them to work together in a way that honors all of their values, such as inclusiveness and efficiency.
