Broadcast on Saturday, March 19, 2022
Hey members!
Remember to get your tickets for the global conference on April 27! If you’re able to volunteer by being a host for a zoom room, please fill out this volunteer form.
It’s been an exciting week in some circles because of the conference. There’s also been a shift in the General Circle — Jerry and CJ are no longer links on the General Circle, and now new-er people, John Clark and Alma Garcia Gil are new voices on GC. This reflects another level of growth and also a new level of focus in SoFA as we’re trying to consolidate and get things out the door!
General Circle and Mission Circle are thinking about the bigger frame of where/who we are, and what’s going to get us closer to the world we want to be in. It’s gratifying and exciting.
Have a wonderful week!

SoLT launches March 30
You can help with outreach!
Here’s something you could be writing to a few friends, colleagues, or on social media:
-
- SoFA is doing an immersion-based training starting March 30. I don’t know about you, but the SoLT training was a key part of my sociocracy education and how I met many people throughout SoFA.
- It’s a great opportunity to let some people in your community or project try out sociocracy in a “sheltered” context for a limited time.
- How it works: participants join a “play” circle with a small project and then have the meetings to figure out all the questions and make proposals in sociocratic ways. It’s perfect for everyone who doesn’t have as much experience with sociocracy yet but wants to get more fluent!
Thank you!

Quakers and sociocracy, March 20
¿Quieres saber más sobre los Quakers o Cuáqueros?
(Want to learn more about the Quakers?)
Explore a theme that is often mentioned when we talk about the origins of sociocracy: the Quakers. Who were they? What was their influence?
We will delve into this topic further on Monday, March 28, 14:30 to 15:30 UTC.
This event is hosted by Sociocracria Practica (SoPra) and offered on Zoom with simultaneous Spanish-English translation by Proglotto. The session will be recorded for folks who are unable to attend in person.

Cooperatives Conference (June 23)
The Co-op Circle is calling for proposals for presentations at their second Sociocracy in Cooperatives Conference scheduled for June 23, 2022. Please spread the word!

Mission Circle
- Did a sensing session on this topic:
“The issues in the world are complex and intertwined. Sociocracy is a good tool to make decisions under these circumstances. Given that we can’t do everything, what are the places where our contribution makes the most sense? And what does that mean for SoFA?”In the SoFA Forum, watch the (18min) recording of the sensing session and share your opinion!
