Joann Shen

I’m Joann from Taiwan, used to be a homeschooler in high school. The death of my family led me to reflect on the meaning of life and why I live. I began to realize that education should help people make their own decisions. At the same time, people are equal. We should respect each other and make decisions together.

I am working hard to research and practice educational innovation, hoping to make multi-stakeholders rethink the nature of education and be more “learner-centric” from thinking to action. To do this, we must conduct a systematic change.

Everyone’s life cannot be separated from the group, but how do groups interact and coexist? Is there a better way? I believe Sociocracy is one of the effective ways to reshape our thinking and action.
