What’s happening in SoFA? Many things in many different places — which is the beauty but also the challenge of a decentralized organization.

I’m celebrating a sweet sociocracy & schools conference that we had last Saturday. A young sector with many new faces of people who just started hearing about sociocracy.

General Circle

• Reviewed budget actuals vs. projections and reflected on the learning from it. The short version is: we’re doing ok! We tend to spend much less than we budget which is a problem because work doesn’t get done. Accordingly, our income is balanced with our expenses.

• The Academy 2022 is starting soon, with 37 students! 
• Some exciting client work among consultants
• Ted and Rhonda developing a new newsletter system that will send more specific messages to people based on interest and training levels
• Social media — are you interested in helping to make TikTok videos?! 
• The annual conference is going to be on April 27!

• Had a discussion and got feedback on how IntC is represented on the website.
• A lot of circles heading into being more operational with a presence on the web.
• We want to start a legal entity in the EU and the helping circle for that started meeting.

Reminder: Meeting template for 2022

Attention circle leaders and secretaries

As we start 2022, someone in each of your circles will need to set up a fresh Google Doc to hold the minutes for your circle for the upcoming year.  If that is you for a particular circle, the Logkeeper team requests that you use the following process for setting up your new minutes document. Four steps:

1. From within the Google Drive folder for your circle, create a new Google Docs file using the “From a template” option.
2. Choose the “Minutes template” as the template for this file.
3. Change the name of this file to “Circle Name Circle minutes [2022]”.  For example, if you are doing this for Mission Circle, you would change the name of the new file to “Mission Circle minutes [2022]”.
4. Then fill in the details about your circle in the header of your new minutes document.

The next round of quarterly budgeting is coming around, please send all budget requests and updates (including new hires and hour updates) to budgeting.circle@sociocracyforall.org by January 29, 2022.

Additional notices from role holders or circles are welcome. Submissions are due on the day when General Circle meets: Feb 1 | Feb 15 | Mar 1 — all Tuesdays.
